Hexagonal sided hand craved antique hawaiian pedestal calabash. It measures 5 1/4 inches high, and it is 6 1/16 to 6 1/2 inches measuring at hte outside of the top. Its greatest width is 7 51/2 inches.
The pedestal is 4 1/2 inches across hte short way, or 5 inches point to point. I don't know much about these, as this was given to me by a dear old friend who collected them, and who is no longer around to ask about it. It apparently had a hole in one side, which was repaired so long ago it looks like it mya have been an original mend in the wood, and which i photographed clearly. It also has a small old chip in one side of the pedestal base, and a 1/2 inch tiny hairline crack on the rim, both clearly photographed.
Thne there are the obviously damaged bits on the rim. It is heavy, and has an aged patina and a lovely very gently rounded bottom, so it spins easily as it sits. I have another of these which i iwll be auctioning off in the next week if you are a collector, keep an eye out.
